Managing Director, Godfrey Philbin

Godfrey has been a developer, manager, advisor, consultant and entrepreneur within the IT industry since the early 1970's. As the founder and managing director of Kenelm Systems, Godfrey adds significant value to the customers he works with due to his combination of business and technology expertise.

He created Kenelm Systems because he saw a need for a managed software development and support service for businesses who wished to develop and run their own computer applications - such as specialised sales or quotation systems - but who could not justify the expense of a full-time IT Department.

For most such businesses there were only two options.

1. Manage with software packages only partially meeting the business need.
   
2. Bring in expensive contract programmers, who could take up too much management time.

Godfrey defined a "third way" to overcome the problems created by these two options. He believed that what these businesses needed was a dedicated IT Department - but only for a limited amount of time each month. This unit would carry out all of the normal functions of writing and testing new programs, supporting existing applications, and advice and "hand-holding" for inexperienced users.

Godfrey has been the driving force behind Kenelm Systems, which now works with a variety of valued clients, some of which outsource their IT function to Kenelm, while others incorporate Kenelm's services within their existing IT department.
